Yes — our consultations are no-pressure and non-commission. The goal is to understand your needs, review the site, and help you make an informed decision about your project.
(You can request a consultation directly through our Start Your Project page.).
-
You’re welcome to reach out at any stage — whether you’re actively planning or simply exploring ideas.
We’re always happy to talk through:
• future plans
• early concepts
• placement possibilities
• “someday” shed projects
There is never any pressure or expectation to commit. Our role is to help you plan so that, when the time is right, you feel confident moving forward.
-
We’re the best fit for homeowners who value:
• careful installation
• responsible placement
• long-term performance
• respect for their property
If you’re looking for the fastest or lowest-cost option, we may not be the right match — but if you care about how the job is done, we’re often an excellent fit.
If we are not the right fit, we’d be happy to point you in the right direction.
-
We build, deliver, and place sheds as a complete project. Placement is treated as part of the build — not an afterthought — and we plan access, movement, and final positioning with care.
(For more on this, see our Services and How It Works pages.)
-
Yes — as long as the project has a clear decision-maker.
We’ll coordinate expectations with the property owner or manager and ensure access, placement, and long-term use are considered carefully.
-
Yes — and we understand that HOA requirements can vary.
When needed, we can:
• provide documentation, layout notes, or structure details
• help clarify placement intent and visual orientation
• coordinate timing around review approvals
We’re happy to support the approval process so it feels simple rather than stressful.
-
Yes — and we make the process as simple as possible.
Permitting requirements vary by location, shed size, and use. When permitting is needed, we can:
• handle the permitting process on your behalf
• coordinate documentation and submittals
• communicate requirements clearly and up-front
We’re happy to manage the details so you don’t have to lift a finger — and you never feel uncertain about whether your project is being handled correctly.
(For broader context on how we handle responsibility and coordination, see our About Us and Customer Experience pages.)
-
Yes — location is one of the most important parts of a shed project.
During consultation, we’ll look at:
• drainage and slope behavior
• access and daily usability
• setback or permitting considerations
• long-term maintenance and clearance
We’ll talk through options with you and help you select a placement that makes sense not only for today — but for years of use ahead.
-
We provide clear, written estimates based on site access, preparation needs, shed size, and structure type — no surprises.
-
Limited access doesn’t necessarily prevent a project.
Depending on the property, we may:
• build a ShedPros unit onsite
• assemble a pre-manufactured big-box shed onsite (by request)
• temporarily remove and reinstall gates or fence panels when appropriate
We’ll review access conditions during consultation and recommend the approach that makes the most sense for your site.
(You can find more detail on these options on our Site Prep and Access Guide and Services pages.)
-
Some properties require additional planning, equipment, or on-site work to place a shed safely and without damaging your home or landscape.
If your site has:
tight gates or narrow side yards
slopes or uneven ground
soft soil, drainage concerns, or obstacles
long travel paths from the street
We’ll walk you through:
Why it matters
What approach makes sense
How it affects time, equipment, and scope
There are no surprise fees.
If something adds cost, it’s because it adds real work — and you’ll understand exactly what that work is before anything moves.
That’s how ShedPros keeps projects fair, safe, and predictable.
-
We plan access paths and movement carefully to minimize disturbance whenever possible.
Some surface compression or travel marks may be unavoidable with equipment and structure movement — but we also offer practical protection solutions such as ground mats and surface protection options for areas of concern.
If there are parts of your yard you’re particularly worried about, tell us ahead of time — we’ll review them with you and plan accordingly.
(Our Safety & Worksite Standards page goes deeper into how we think about protecting your property.)
-
Yes, we can provide practical site preparation and leveling solutions, based on what best supports long-term stability and drainage at the shed location.
We’ll discuss site conditions and recommendations during planning.
-
In most cases, our sheds are installed on support and leveling systems designed for stable, long-term performance without requiring a full concrete slab.
When a concrete pad is the right solution, we don’t leave you to coordinate it on your own. We’ll:
• help evaluate whether a slab is appropriate
• connect with a trusted concrete partner
• work together to align timing and placement needs
Our goal is to handle coordination so you don’t have to lift a finger — and so the pad and shed work together as a complete, well-planned project.
-
Yes — many properties have mild to moderate grade.
In those cases, we:
• evaluate how the slope behaves over seasons
• plan appropriate support and leveling
• discuss realistic expectations for long-term settling
If slope conditions require additional work, we’ll explain options in a straightforward way before the project begins.
-
We take surrounding vegetation into account when planning placement.
In areas with roots or dense plantings, we’ll:
• review clearance and moisture exposure
• discuss trimming or adjustment options when appropriate
• recommend placement that avoids long-term contact or damage
Our goal is to place the shed in a way that respects both the structure and the landscape.
-
Not necessarily.
If utilities will be added later, we can:
• discuss placement and orientation in advance
• plan clear pathways for future routing
• make sure access and layout support your intended use
If electrical or other trades are involved, we’re glad to coordinate timing so everything works together smoothly.
-
Yes — we take architectural fit seriously.
During planning, we can discuss:
• siding and trim style
• proportion and roof profile
• visibility from primary viewpoints
• how the shed integrates with the property
Our goal is a shed that feels appropriate for the space — not out of place.
-
Yes — when requested, we can include:
• ramps for equipment or storage
• steps for elevated entry points
• practical access features based on use
We’ll talk through what you plan to store and how you’ll enter the shed so the design supports everyday function.
-
Yes — when requested, we can assemble pre-manufactured sheds onsite.
We assemble them carefully and correctly, with the understanding that these products are engineered to different material and structural standards than a ShedPros build.
-
In many cases, yes — especially when the structure is sound but needs:
• leveling adjustments
• door or hardware improvement
• flooring support evaluation
• thoughtful upgrade work
We’ll assess the structure first to make sure any repairs are appropriate and worthwhile.
-
Often yes — depending on:
• structure condition
• access and maneuvering clearance
• ground conditions along the path
We’ll evaluate feasibility before committing, so the move is performed safely and responsibly.
-
It’s helpful when possible — especially for site discussion — but not mandatory.
We can also:
• review photos or videos
• discuss placement intent remotely
• walk through decisions in stages if needed
We’ll work with whatever approach is most practical for you.
-
Scheduling varies by season. We’re a quality-focused operation, and some periods book out in advance. If you have a specific timeframe in mind, let us know during the initial conversation.
-
Yes — our warranty approach is based on workmanship, responsible installation, and realistic expectations for how sheds perform over time.
-
If you have a question not listed here, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to talk through details.

In Washington State, most detached sheds under 200 square feet do not require a building permit when they are single-story, not on a permanent foundation, and not connected to utilities.
However, zoning, setbacks, drainage rules, and critical-area restrictions still apply, even when a building permit is not required.
This means a shed can be “permit-exempt” but still be placed illegally if it:
Is too close to a property line
Blocks drainage
Sits in an easement
Encroaches on wetlands or slopes
At ShedPros, we review both building code and site rules before placement so your shed is installed legally, safely, and without future compliance issues.
-
Every ShedPros project is priced based on three real factors - not guesswork, not sales tactics, and not flat-rate templates.
Your final price is built from:
1) The shed itself
Size, design, materials, doors, windows, roofing, trim, and any custom features.
2) Your site
Access paths, slope, soil conditions, drainage, setbacks, and placement complexity all affect how the shed must be installed safely and legally.
3) The work required to do it right
Planning, equipment, crew time, leveling, support systems, protection of your property, and final verification.
Some companies quote sheds like furniture - assuming every yard is the same.
ShedPros does not.
Two identical sheds placed on two different properties can require very different levels of preparation, equipment, and labor. Pricing reflects the actual work needed, not a marketing number.
That's why ShedPros provides:
Site-aware pricing
Transparent scope
No surprise tees
No bait-and-switch upgrades
You'll know exactly what's included, why it costs what it does, and what it takes to do the job correctly - before anything is built or delivered.
If you want, next we should do:
"Do you charge extra for difficult access?"
That one is where a huge amount of consumer anger usually comes from - and ShedPros can turn it into a trust advantage.
